Piacenza Expo launches the National Photography Competition for Fiera dei Vini 2026, a themed initiative created for the fourth edition of the wine fair, which will take place at the exhibition centre from Saturday, November 14th to Monday, November 16th.
Open to both professional and amateur photographers, the competition invites participants to use images to tell stories of traditions, practices and places connected to wine culture. Entries, accompanied by the completed registration form and signed rules and regulations, must be submitted by October 9th to segreteria@fieradeivini.it. A jury will select the winners, who will be presented with their awards during Fiera dei Vini 2026. A further award will also be presented by the public jury, with voting taking place via social media until November 2nd.
The competition features two categories. “La fabbrica del vigneto” (“The Vineyard at Work”) focuses on sustainable viticulture and, more broadly, on work in the vineyard and the everyday practices that take place before the wine reaches the glass. “Il vino in osteria” (“Wine at the Osteria”), meanwhile, explores the convivial and social dimensions of wine as a culture of bringing people together, highlighting the places and occasions where wine becomes a means of connection.
“Now in its fourth edition, with 19 Italian regions already represented among the 230 participating exhibitors, we are seeing Fiera dei Vini grow both in numbers and in identity,” explains Gregorio Amoretti, event manager. “Our goal is to create an increasingly complete experience. That is why we have developed a food offering that goes beyond simply providing a service, becoming an integral part of the event that engages with wine and the local area and makes the visitor journey even more meaningful.”
Another new feature of the 2026 edition will be the creation of a dedicated Osteria Piacentina, located within the fair itself. Each gastronomic speciality will be an integral part of the visitor experience: no longer simply an ancillary element, but a way of complementing the tastings and helping to tell the story of the relationship between cuisine, wine and local identity.
There will also be a new approach to the masterclasses, with a programme designed to share stories and create opportunities for connection, using a more direct and accessible language. Among the events already confirmed is a guided tasting exclusively for producers and wine lovers under 30, featuring four wines. The event will explore the future of wine through a dialogue between the new generations.
