PIACENZA, July 1st, 2025 – With just three months to go, GIS Expo – Italian Days of Lifting and Heavy Transport – is already seeing a record number of registrations and confirmations for its 10th edition, scheduled to take place from September 25th–27th, 2025, at Piacenza Expo. The event, the only one of its kind in Italy as well as the largest in Europe in this sector, is on track to break all previous records in terms of exhibitors and visitors.
GIS Expo continues to be the leading European showcase for the industry, offering a prime platform for unveiling the latest developments and technological innovations in material lifting, work at height, industrial and port handling, and exceptional transport.
This year, the sector is undergoing a significant transformation: demand for electric and hybrid vehicles is steadily rising, driven by new European regulations on emissions and sustainability. At GIS Expo, the top manufacturers will present cutting-edge solutions designed to meet the needs of increasingly green construction sites and ports.
GIS’s success is the result of the vision of Fabio Potestà, Director of Mediapoint & Exhibitions—the event’s organizing company—who shaped the event around a winning formula: specialized trade fairs held every two years, short in duration, and with lower exhibiting costs compared to other events in Italy and abroad.
GIS Expo is also an important forum for industry dialogue, bringing together institutions and stakeholders to address major challenges through a full program of conferences, workshops, and panel discussions. Key topics at the 2025 edition will include digitalization and automation, such as how IoT systems, artificial intelligence, and predictive maintenance are revolutionizing fleet management and site safety. Another important theme on which the event will focus is the growing need to recruit and train new specialized operators—an issue that trade associations are increasingly addressing through education and partnerships with technical schools. Additionally, the event will explore the major ongoing investments in Italian logistics and port infrastructure, where modernization and intermodal development projects are reshaping goods movement in our country.
Fabio Potestà, Director of Mediapoint & Exhibitions, stated: “This year’s record turnout confirms GIS’s central role as a key reference point for the entire lifting, handling, and heavy transport industry.
The 2025 edition will be particularly meaningful as it reflects a sector undergoing rapid evolution—driven by technological innovation, digitalization, and a growing commitment to sustainability, also in response to new EU regulations. We are proud to offer a platform where companies, professionals, and institutions can engage with the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
This 10th edition of GIS Expo is once again held under the patronage of leading national and international trade associations and numerous institutional bodies, including the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Defence, the Emilia-Romagna Region, and the Municipality of Piacenza.
