More than forty organizations, including trade associations, interprofessional and product organizations, and processing companies, will be present at Piacenza Expo on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th February for the 2026 edition of Tomato World, the most important and authoritative national conference with exhibition dedicated to the industrial tomato sector.
Now in its thirteenth edition, Tomato World will once again shed light on the key issues regarding cultivation, production, technology, regulations, and industrial aspects of the “Oro Rosso,” thanks to the rich conference program developed by the Technical Committee of Piacenza Expo, the event organiser, in synergy with the leading Associations of the agricultural field.
The 2026 edition of Tomato World was presented this morning at a press conference by the President of Piacenza Expo, Giuseppe Cavalli; the Director, Sergio Copelli; the President of OP Ainpo, Filippo Arata; and the Director of OP Asipo, Michele Bertoli.
“Tomato World,” Cavalli stated, “is a high-level technical event that draws the attention of the entire industrial tomato supply chain. It also serves as an opportunity to foster constructive teamwork among all stakeholders within this production district, which represents a source of pride not only for the Piacenza area but for Italy as a whole. The presence of Minister Foti, Regional Councillor Mammi, MP Bonaccini and other political and institutional representatives highlights the importance of this conference with exhibition, which boasts record-breaking figures this year: more than forty organizations will be participating, with a 30% as compared to the previous edition.”
“This year’s conference program,” added Director Copelli, “is particularly rich and wide-ranging, covering topics from climate change to cultivation innovations, from water resource management to new technologies, without overlooking regulatory aspects. The merit goes to the significant contributions of all members of the Tomato World Technical Committee, which brings together the key players of this sector and represents the true driving force behind this conference with exhibition. This year, special attention will also be given to the younger generation, a fundamental and valuable resource for our agriculture.”
These qualitative strengths make Tomato World an unmissable event for both the production side and the industrial sector. “Tomato World,” emphasized Arata, “is a true national reference point for industry professionals: an event where participants can build relationships, exchange ideas, compare experiences, and above all stay up to date thanks to the high quality of its conferences. The upcoming season prospects itself as particularly challenging, one of the reasons being to the continuous rise in costs, and in this context Tomato World represents the right forum for dialogue among the various components of the industrial tomato sector.”
“We are on the eve of contract negotiations,” added Bertoli, “which makes this the ideal moment to strengthen dialogue and discussion between the production and industrial sectors. We are grateful to Piacenza Expo for this high-level specialized event, which contributes to the growth of our sector by providing new tools for knowledge and in-depth analysis.”
