Geofluid 2026 presented to the local press

Piacenza, October 1st, 2026 – From October 7 to 10, the pavilions and outdoor exhibition area of Piacenza Expo will host the 25th edition of Geofluid, the most important and qualified international trade fair dedicated to equipment and technologies for the research, extraction, and transport of underground fluids, as well as the drilling, underground works, geotechnics, and geothermal sectors.

In an international geopolitical context heavily affected by armed conflicts and tariffs that are negatively impacting the global economic scenario, Geofluid confirms itself as the leading international benchmark for the sector, with figures that surpass the record-breaking 2023 edition: 383 exhibitors (including 15 companies from Piacenza) from all over Italy and 23 different foreign countries, and pre-registered visitors from more than 90 countries.

The 2026 edition of Geofluid was presented at a press conference this morning in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Piacenza by Deputy Mayor Matteo Bongiorni, Piacenza Expo President Davide Villa, Barbara Villaggi, the event’s manager, and Emanuele Emani, member of the National Council of Geologists.

“The figures for this edition,” President Villa noted, “testify not only to Geofluid‘s continuous and steady growth, but also to the quality and organizational capacity of our operating structure. This major trade event is the result of a journey that has, over time, brought together businesses, trade associations, professional bodies, and university and research institutions in a team effort marked by strong expertise and professionalism. A major trade event that will bring visitors, entrepreneurs, and professionals from all over the world to our area.”

Geofluid’s appeal was also highlighted by Deputy Mayor Bongiorni, who emphasized “the high technological level of the topics covered in the numerous conferences on the program, capable of analyzing highly topical issues such as water and energy resource management, a further added value of a fair that continues to grow.”

The extensive conference program, as well as the wide-ranging exhibition of machinery, technologies, and equipment for underground works and geothermal applications, was outlined by Barbara Villaggi, who also stressed “the important and skilled work carried out by Geofluid’s Technical Committee, coordinated by Piacenza Expo with contributions from ANIM, Acque Sotterranee, Anipa, OGER, and the National Council of Geologists, together with other trade associations involved in the individual events, including SIGEA, ALIG, ANIGHP, AIF, and IATT.”

Synergies and collaborations were also highlighted by Emanuele Emani, member of the National Council of Geologists, which will be represented at Geofluid by the European Federation of the professional body, “with participation in major specialist conferences dedicated to land, subsurface, water, and resource management, within the context of the energy transition that defines our time. High-level scientific contributions that further raise Geofluid’s international technical standing.”

Further enriching the 2026 edition of Geofluid is a live demo area, a genuine testing ground for technological innovations and operating protocols. A notable new addition is the opening, by Piacenza Expo, Piacenza Alimentare, and the Consorzio Salumi Tipici Piacentini, of a temporary shop featuring local Piacenza products, given the presence of visitors from all over the world.
